Places we visited and enjoyed included the Penn Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, in Philadelphia, the Kimmel Center Verizon Hall for the Philly Pops Christmas Show, and the Nemours Estate for the Christmas display followed by lunch at the DuPont Country Club. Not pictured was our January 2020 visit to the Hedgerow Theatre for a performance of Nunsense followed by dinner at the Iron Hill Brewery in Media. FUN TIMES before the shut-down.

PASR Delaware County Chapter volunteers led by John DellaGuardia, chair of the Social Services Memorial Honor Fund repacked, tagged, and delivered Poinsettia to our members in retirement communities and nursing facilities. Our members look forward to this event each year and appreciate the efforts of our Chapter in sharing holiday wishes.
Our PASR Delaware County Chapter held our Fall Luncheon at the Granite Farms Estates on November 6, 2019 featuring a Celebration of Service. Awards were given to individuals that provide service to our Chapter and to the greater community. Their acts of service and volunteerism exemplifies our motto - To serve not to be served. The awardees are listed below with the title of their award.
Attendees participated in a sing-a-long lead by Gloria Hoffner, Guitar with Gloria and as part of the sing-a-long Gloria shared facts about each of the songs. Fun time! Prior to the award portion of the event attendees had the opportunity to meet our Committee Chairs and learn more about our Chapter services. In keeping with the theme of service and giving and the efforts of our Community Services Committee, attendees brought donations of non-perishable food for the Bernardine Center and warm clothing items for Kozy Kids. Click Event Slideshow BelowMembers of our Chapter attended Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR) biennial House of Delegates Meeting, October 6-8 of 2019. During the event delegates voted on PASR Board of Director proposals and changes to the bylaws. Also fundraising events were held to benefit the Social Service Memorial Honor Fund (SSMHF) Committee and the RECERO Committee. Our Chapter will be participating in Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends event. This event helps shoppers save money on Friends Helping Friends Day and also helps raise money for our Chapter to support our programs. Our Chapter is also participating in three onsite pre-sale days: Tuesday, September 24 from 10:00AM to 2:00PM at the Concord Mall location and Thursday, September 26 from 2:00PM to 6:00PM and Friday, September 27 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at the Granite Run location . During the summer months Chapter members participated in two events offered through our RECREO Chair, Caroline Fedena. In July a group went to the Winterthur Museum to see the Customizing THE CROWN exhibit which features 40 iconic costumes from the Emmy® award-winning Netflix series The Crown which dramatizes history of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II . In August members attended the Candlelight Theatre production of the classic award winning Rodgers and Hammerstein musical South Pacific plus the group enjoyed the buffet lunch.
During the Spring of 2019 our members attended a variety of RECREO events which included a day at the Phillies Game at Citizens Bank Park, trip to the Kimmel Center to see the American Bandstand show performed by the Philly Pops and the Candlelight Theatre show Lend Me a Tenor. Fun times!
In May 2019 our Chapter held the Excellence in Education awards luncheon to recognize Delaware County schools, public school employees, selected winners from the Delaware County Science Fair and students seeking a career in public education. The awards are the Lauretta Woodson Awards, the Educational Grant Awards, Delaware County Science Fair winners in four categories, and the Lauretta Woodson Scholarships. The Educational Grant and Lauretta Woodson School District Awards are given to selected school districts within Delaware County on a rotating basis. The Educational Support Committee under the leadership of John Ruth is proud to announce the 2019 awardees listed below:
