It comes as no surprise that retired public school employees are among the most active, involved people in their communities. After all, throughout their active working days these individuals were dedicated to helping others. With nearly 25,000 PASR members contributing more than eight and a half million hours of service to their local communities, the economic value of PASR member volunteer service to the State of Pennsylvania is nearly $198 million per year. Our Past-President Harry Hill, who has also been recognized for his SUPER volunteer service, reported that last year our PASR Delaware County members who returned the Community Service Survey added up to 7,296 hours of volunteer service for 2015.
