Caroline V. Fedena, age 85, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away on September 26, 2024, at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. Born and raised in Chester, PA, Caroline spent the last 31 years residing in Glen Mills, previously calling Aston, PA home, where she raised her family for over 30 years.
Caroline dedicated 25 years as a guidance counselor at Sun Valley High School, retiring in 2000. After retirement, she continued to stay active by working as a travel agent for Whirlaway Travel. A graduate of Notre Dame High School, Class of 1956, she went on to earn her undergraduate degree from Holy Family University and a Master’s degree in Guidance Counseling from West Chester University in the 1970’s. She was also a proud member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR) and served as the RECREO committee chairperson and arranged all of the trips and excursions. She had a deep love for travel, sharing many adventures with her husband in their RV across the United States, cruises, trips to Europe and a wonderful trip to Egypt that remained her favorite. In addition to her parents, Joseph C. and Katherine (nee Waksmundski) Marchlik, Caroline was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Joseph W. Fedena, who passed in 2022, and her brother, Joseph Marchlik. She is survived by her four children: Karen Hanson, Jacqui Kolle, Lynn Skiles, and Steve (Gina) Fedena; her brother John Marchlik and sister-in-law Pam Marchlik; seven grandchildren: Taylor (Eric) McLaughlin, Erika (Matt) Brazis, Brandon Kolle, Brett Hanson, Luke Fedena, Ty Hughes, and Kelly Fedena; and her great-granddaughter, Abigail McLaughlin. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, October 5th from 8:30-9:45 AM at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 160 Ridge Road, Chadds Ford, PA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM.
