educational support

The Educational Support Committee supports public education, which includes:
  • Developing and supporting programs that promote improvements in public education for the citizens of Pennsylvania.
  • Encouraging and supporting students seeking careers in public education.
  • Promoting the positive accomplishments of Pennsylvania's public schools and the outstanding service provided by individuals employed in public schools.
Each spring our Chapter holds an awards luncheon to recognize Delaware County schools, public school employees, selected winners from the Delaware County Science Fair and students seeking a career in public education. The awards are the Lauretta Woodson Awards, the Educational Grant Awards, Delaware County Science Fair winners in four categories, and the Lauretta Woodson Scholarships. The Educational Grant and Lauretta Woodson School District Awards are given to selected school districts within Delaware County on a rotating basis.
