As part of our mission to serve and not to be served the Delaware County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees supports the Delaware County Science Fair through student awards and member volunteers. The 56th Delaware County Science Fair held on March 9-12,
2015 showcased exemplary science research projects by Delaware County Students in grades 6 through 12.
Four awards from our Chapter were given to category winners Derick Know, Upper Darby HS – Behavioral & Social Sciences; Brandon Gordon, Upper Darby HS – Mathematics; Ashley Moll, Springfield HS – Medicine & Health; and Rachel Foster, Sun Valley HS – Microbiology. These winners will go on to compete at the Delaware Valley Science Fair March 31 to April 2, at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center.
Chapter members included Science Fair Committee member and organizer Robert Fleck, retired science teacher Garnet Valley School District; Science Fair judges,
Dr.Timothy Folkomer, retired science teacher Wm. Penn School District, Mary Boeni, retired teacher Springfield School District , and Anne Mosakowski, retired Instructional Technology Coordinator Delaware County Intermediate Unit.
The student winners will also be honored at the Chapter Educational Awards Luncheon scheduled for May 6, 2015 at the White Horse Village.
